The Inspiration:

12 tiny escapes from the busy world - each one inspired by a different idea of somewhere you'd want to disappear to for a little while.

There’s something about being surrounded by trees that makes the world feel a little quieter.

Tall trees.
Dappled sunlight.
The sound of the wind moving through the leaves.

And then, hidden amongst it all, is this little cottage sitting in a clearing.

I imagine finding this place at the end of a long woodland path, with nothing but trees and birdsong around you.

Just a little patch of sunlight, a cosy cottage, and the feeling of being completely tucked away from the rest of the world.

That’s the feeling I wanted to capture in this piece.

12 Quiet Places

Last year, I painted a series of little cottages that sold out, and collectors told me how much they loved having these tiny, slightly magical places to escape to.

So I brought them back for 12 Quiet Places — a series of 12 original miniature landscapes, each imagining a little cottage somewhere peaceful, from wild coastlines and hidden coves to endless fields, woodland and mountains.

I created them as tiny reminders to slow down, step away from the noise and disappear somewhere else for a few quiet moments.

★★★★★

"Every brushstroke feels infused with the tranquillity and wildness of the coast."

Hello, I'm Felicity

I've always believed our homes should make us feel the way nature does - calm, grounded and able to breathe.
That's why I'm continually drawn back to the Welsh coastline. Every walk reminds me how powerful a landscape can be, not because of how it looks, but because of how it makes us feel. Through my paintings, I hope to bring a little of that feeling into the homes of the people who live with them.
