The Best is Yet to Come

'The Best is Yet to Come' is a painting that I just needed to create. I was having a really stressful day and knew that the best thing for me would be to pick up a paint brush and let my feelings out through big, expressive mark making. And it worked! I felt much better. I didn't put anger or stress into the painting, it was more about releasing tension and frustration through the creative process and as a result I've made a piece that is hopeful and full of light and joy.


I hope this piece makes you feel calm and content. And that it acts as a reminder to look to the horizon and remember that the best is yet to come.

Felicity Souter is an abstract landscape artist living and working in Bristol, UK.

Through her practice she works to evoke the dual sensation of calmness and energy she feels in nature, particularly in the Welsh countryside. 

Combining a variety of mediums and techniques her painterly marks mimic the unpredictability of the landscape.
